Kitten Rescued Alone Outside, Crawls onto a Warm Lap and Won’t Let Go

A little stray kitten found a warm lap to latch on — he wouldn’t let go.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

A tuxedo kitten was spotted wandering the streets without a mother in sight. He was in poor shape and taken to a pound where his fate became uncertain.

Despite being very small and fragile, the kitten never gave up. A group of volunteers reached out to local rescues and hoped to find him a chance at a better life.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue in Montreal, Canada, learned about the kitten’s plight and immediately offered to help.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

“We named him Binx. He was just skin and bones and weighed only 450 grams,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal told Love Meow.

They took the kitten to the vet to get him the medical attention he needed. “He threw himself on the food after his eyes and nose were cleaned. He was very hungry.”

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

Jess, a foster volunteer of the rescue, came to pick him up. When she held him in her arms, the little tuxedo nuzzled right in and started purring.

He was so happy to be loved that he went right to sleep.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

With proper medical care and good nutrition, Binx started to put on weight and gain strength.

Despite having plenty of cat beds and soft things to nap on, he insisted on being on his foster mom’s lap for some much-needed TLC.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

“Binx is full of energy and very playful. He’s always looking for a friend to play or cuddle with. He likes to talk and enjoys telling his humans about his day,” Celine shared with Love Meow.

“You always know where he is. He needs attention and to be close to his humans at all times.”

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

A few days ago, a family came to meet Binx. The tuxedo climbed onto their lap and decided to stay. Even with a feather toy in front of him, he would not leave the comfort of their lap.

That day, he had his dream come true when he went to his new home with his forever family.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

“It is hard to imagine that he was so close to death’s door when he came to us. Now, he is thriving with a great future ahead of him,” Celine said.

Binx will never have to fend for himself on the streets another day. He adores his new family and enjoys being carried around in their arms.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal

The little former stray has blossomed into a handsome, happy cuddle-bug.

Woman Gave Kitten with Grumpy Face a Home, the Kitty Changed Her Life Forever

A woman met a kitten with a grumpy looking face, and the kitty changed her life forever.

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

Clare from Taiwan had always wanted a cat. After she graduated from college, she began to look for a feline companion, and that’s when she met Meow Meow.

“She tried to touch me with her soft paw through the cage. I learned that she was returned by her former owner,” Clare told Love Meow.

The 10-month-old kitten looked very anxious in the crowded environment, and Clare didn’t have the heart to leave her there. “We adopted her that day. She was super sweet and my family accepted her right away.”

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

Meow Meow was so happy to be in a loving home. She started to follow her humans everywhere around the house, giving them massages and keeping them company.

As she grew older, the markings on her face became darker and more prominent.

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

“Her markings make her look like Batman. She loves watching birds by the windows every morning, and takes a long nap with her grandma in the afternoon.”

When Clare is at work, Meow Meow spends most of her time with Grandma. The sweet kitty continues to steal the heart from everyone.

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

As Meow Meow got older, she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Clare was determined to find the best hospital for her cat, and it led her to Oregon Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Beaverton, Oregon.

“I quit my job and rent a place in Portland,” she told Love Meow.

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

She traveled all the way to America to seek medical treatment for Meow Meow. “I took the bus to the hospital for visit every single day until the doctor said she could be discharged,” Clare shared with Love Meow.

“I took her to our place in Portland. We were very lucky – the homeowner whom we rented from, is a real nice guy. He helped us a lot.”

The sweet kitty was able to recover fully, and they met a lot of great friends along the way.

“They saved my girl’s life. She doesn’t need medication any more and we are so happy for her. We love Portland. Although we are back to Taiwan, I hope we could move there one day.”

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

Meow Meow has spent nearly a decade with her forever family and has blossomed into a fluffy, diva cat.

“Her grandma used to feed her with a spoon when she was very young. She was afraid that the food would get into her fur and whiskers. Now, she loves to nap with Grandma.”

Late January, Clare created an Instagram account to document Meow Meow’s adventures at home.

She began receiving comments and messages from people around the world, saying what a striking resemblance Meow Meow had to the beloved departed Grumpy Cat.

Clare @the_cat_named_meowmeow

“I miss the Grumpy Cat too. I am happy that people like Meow Meow. Hopefully, her story can bring them hope and smiles,” Clare told Love Meow.

Cat Came to a Rescue to Start Weight Loss Journey After He Lost His Home

A big kitty named Wilford came to a local rescue for a chance at a better life.

Jen @pokeypotpie

Wilford, an 8-year-old cat, was brought to a shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He came in matted, dirty, and severely overweight.

The kitty was in desperate need of a foster home and medical attention. Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, a rescue group in Virginia, took him into their care.

“He is insanely sweet, but he was confused, stressed out, and overwhelmed by all the changes in his life,” Jen (@pokeypotpie), a foster volunteer, shared with Love Meow.

Jen @pokeypotpie

Wilford is currently at 28 pounds, but his healthy weight should be at around 14. It will likely take several years for him to reach his goal.

Before he was ready to start his weight loss journey, he had a few health issues to overcome. He was in and out of the vet several times for treatment and additional medical care before his health was finally stabilized.

Jen @pokeypotpie

Once Wilford was strong enough, they began to help him get his weight down, slowly and gradually.

“He will eventually need to lose half of his body weight. He is an absolute delight and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to spend time with him.”

(Scroll down for video)

Jen @pokeypotpie

They were able to find a wet food that Wilford was willing to eat consistently.

“I’ve discovered that he loves catnip and catnip toys. He’s playful,” Jen said. “He doesn’t have much range of movement, but he’s super interested in the feather wand and can be enticed to swat at it. This will help us get him some exercise.”

Jen @pokeypotpie

Wilford enjoys lying on his back when he feels safe. “He voluntarily and regularly rolls onto his back. He genuinely likes this position and can flip back and forth at will,” Jen added.

“This guy has a massive purr motor and it gets going almost as soon as you start petting him.”

Jen @pokeypotpie

Wilford is still a kitten at heart and has a big personality. He wants to play whenever he sees his favorite toy.

Watch Wilford in this cute video:

www.youtube.com

“Despite all that he has been through, Wilford is incredibly sweet and loving,” Jen told Love Meow.

“He loves to be pet, purrs so loudly that you can hear it from across the room.”

Jen @pokeypotpie

Wilford is a people cat and will sit in a warm lap whenever he gets a chance. He moves quickly when it’s meal time, and nothing, not even the stairs, can slow him down.

“There is something deeply satisfying and relaxing about petting Wilford. He enjoys it so much, and it’s nice to see him so relaxed. He would make an excellent therapy cat!”

Jen @pokeypotpie

The sweet kitty is always in good spirits and getting more playful and active every day.

In a few more weeks, he will be ready to find a forever, loving home to share his journey with.

Shy Kitten Rescued from the Street, Learns to Trust Through “Purrito” Cuddles

Rescuers helped a little scaredy kitten learn to trust through lots of “purrito” cuddles.

Nikki Martinez

Nikki Martinez, a rescuer based in Las Vegas, took in a very timid kitten rescued through a TNR (trap-neuter-return) project. She was found along with other kittens from a cat colony, and was the shyest of all.

Whenever Nikki tried to reach out to her, the kitten would hiss and swat with all her might. Other kittens quickly adjusted to the indoor life, but this little feisty one (named Sugar) needed a lot more work.

To help Sugar get used to human contact, Nikki began giving her cuddle sessions throughout the day.

Nikki Martinez

She carefully wrapped the kitten in a soft blanket like a “purrito”, gently pat her on the back to soothe her.

Sugar was very anxious and scared, staring up at her foster mom. Nikki would offer some wet food by hand to help with the socialization.

Nikki Martinez

“I use (wet food and treats) as a tool. I want her to associate happy things with being in my presence,” Nikki shared with Love Meow.

Slowly but surely, Sugar began to calm down with less fearful stares or sudden swats. After a few weeks of intense cuddles, patience and hard work, the kitten finally had a breakthrough.

Nikki Martinez

“For weeks, she sat under a table, scared, refusing to even look at me and petrified if I even came in the room. For the first time, she played with me,” Nikki said.

The next day, Sugar even came out of her hiding spot to play with her foster mom. Nikki was overjoyed by how far she had come.

“Working with a shy or hissy kitty and wanting to do right by them is harder than it sounds. I’ve had lots of hard nuts to crack over the years, but she really made me work!”

Nikki Martinez

Sugar was still a bit skittish, and would run and hide if someone walked in the room.

To help her gain confidence, Nikki continued to shower her with love and cuddles, giving her all the attention she needed to get over her fear.

Watch Sugar and her journey in this cute video:

www.youtube.com

“Since she got nervous and ran when I approached her, I wanted every interaction with her to be positive,” Nikki shared with Love Meow.

“I wanted to get to the point when my hand approaching her didn’t scare her, and eventually she would seek me for attention.”

Nikki Martinez

Sugar grew a bit braver and more eager for affection each day.

Two weeks later, she was purring aloud in Nikki’s arms while enjoying chin scratches. It was then they knew she was ready for her next chapter in life.

Nikki Martinez

A family fell in love with Sugar even when she was still a scaredy, hissy kitty. Despite her tough exterior, they saw the potential.

“She is in the arms of her wonderful new parents! They are perfect for her,” Nikki said. “Her new family is so patient and sweet, they are going to continue to work with her to allow her to blossom.”

Nikki Martinez

Sugar is no longer that scaredy cat that Nikki rescued from the street.

She is getting to know her two new feline sisters and enjoying her time being loved and spoiled.

Kitten with a “Wink” Can’t Stop Cuddling After She Was Brought Back from the Brink

A kitten with a “wink” curled up in her rescuer’s arms after she was brought back from the brink.

Kitten Rescue Life

A kitten named Maple was found as a stray along with her brother Egg, and brought to a shelter, in need of rescue. At four weeks old, they were extremely emaciated.

Amanda, founder of Kitten Rescue Life (in Oceanside, California), learned about their plight and stepped up to help. “Because of their frailness, I believe they had been without their mom for a long time,” Amanda told Love Meow.

She took the pair of feline siblings home and worked around the clock to save them. Over the next few days, the kittens’ upper respiratory infection continued to worsen. Amanda spent countless sleepless nights trying to keep them alive.

Kitten Rescue Life

Maple, who developed a severe eye infection, pulled through, while her brother sadly lost his fight. Even though they couldn’t save her bad eye, they were able to bring her back from the brink.

The little warrior kitty was determined to live. With round-the-clock care and medication, she started to put on weight and gain strength. As soon as she got her energy back, she was playing, climbing things and running around again.

Kitten Rescue Life

“I had a moment the other night when she was laying between us in bed, playing and acting like a normal kitten,” Amanda added.

“It was that moment you hope for when you’re nursing sick kittens to health. That ‘we made it’ moment that makes it all worth it. I felt so lucky.”

Kitten Rescue Life

Every time, Maple reached a milestone, they celebrated it with her. They were so proud when she finally hit the two-pound mark.

“I remember when I first had her at 277 grams, just skin and bones,” Amanda said. “Fast forward to today and she’s so chunky she can’t get up from a laying position without rolling side to side to gain momentum.”

Kitten Rescue Life

Two months after the rescue, Maple looked like a new kitten.

“She is extremely energetic and independent. She’s feisty, confident, and playful, a force to be reckoned with. She runs the house and even our adult resident cats bend to her will,” Amanda told Love Meow.

Kitten Rescue Life

“Maple was so sassy as a young kitten but the older she gets the more affectionate she becomes.”

The little former stray has come a long way since she was rescued from life on the street.

“We are waiting for her to gain a little more weight so she can have her bad eye removed (to prevent infections),” Amanda told Love Meow.

Kitten Rescue Life

Maple is a proud one-eyed kitty, and doesn’t let anything stop her.

“She uses her good eye to send her messages loud and clear!”

She is soaking up the love every day, cuddling with her humans, doing what she does best.

Stray Kitten Rescued from Bridge, Can’t Stop Cuddling His Rescuer

A woman found a little stray on a bridge in need of rescue. The kitten was so thankful to be safe that he couldn’t stop cuddling.

Nada A.

A month ago, Nada A., a research analyst, was on her way home from work when she spotted a kitten in distress.

“I found him huddled against the cold sitting on the barricade of a bridge. Worried about stopping my car in the middle of the freeway, I asked my brother for help,” Nada told Love Meow.

“As he approached it, the kitten kept backing away and was dangling over the bridge, hanging on the barricade with just his claws. My brother quickly managed to scoop him up before he fell.”

They took the kitten home and placed him in a quiet room to help him calm down.

Nada A.

Since they have another cat, they already had the supplies needed for the kitten. The little tabby was dirty and a bit shaken after the ordeal.

It took him a couple of days to acclimate to the new environment and warm up to his new family. When the kitten realized he was safe, he switched on his turbo-charged purr motor and was eager to be loved.

He crawled into Nada’s lap for some much-needed cuddles.

Nada A.

The kitten purred up a storm, in pure bliss, as soon as he was petted. If Nada stopped for a second, he would immediately meow at her, demanding more love. (Scroll down for video)

“He was getting so comfortable with me that I gave him a bath. That night, I took him to the vet who called him ‘a remarkably polite cat’ which still makes me beam with pride,” Nada told Love Meow.

Nada A.

“Apart from a stitch he had on his elbow and a bruised back paw, he was unscathed.”

Watch as the kitten meows and demands pets:

Since then, the kitten has been quite the cuddle-bug.

He follows his human everywhere she goes, and his purr motor doesn’t seem to stop running.

Nada A.

The little former stray is so happy to have a roof over his head. He constantly demands attention and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

“We’ve had him for a month now, and he’s lovely, super playful and cuddly. Introducing him to our behemoth of a cat, Kimchi, has been a challenge but we’re patient,” Nada told Love Meow.

Nada A.

In terms of naming the kitten, they haven’t decided on the perfect one yet. “We like the idea of Mochi but he’s such an affectionate shoulder cat that I almost want to call him Captain.”

The sweet kitty is now living the VIP life and filling his home with endless purrs.

Kitten with a Bent Paw is So Happy to Be Rescued She Has a Lot to Say

A kitten with an injured paw was rescued from life on the street. She was so happy and had a lot to say.

Saving Grace Rescue

A stray kitten was taken into San Jose Animal Care and Control with a limping front leg. She was in need of rescue, so shelter volunteers reached out to Saving Grace Rescue (in San Francisco) for help.

Amber Rose, founder of Saving Grace Rescue, immediately arranged transport to get the kitten into a loving foster home. “Since the moment she arrived in my car, she’s been very vocal,” Joyce, a volunteer of the rescue, told Love Meow.

They named the kitten Dash.

Save A Kitten San Jose

At the vet, Dash, the little love-bug, purred up a storm while she was given an exam. “Her paw was numb which means her wrist suffered an avulsion that damaged her radial and ulnar nerves,” Amber told Love Meow.

“Amazingly, function is returning to the leg. It doesn’t stop her from getting on counters and stealing all the food. And she tells you all about it.”

(Scroll down for video)

Saving Grace Rescue

The sweet kitten loves a long conversation. She makes sure she is near her humans at all times, is vocal about what she wants and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

“She demands cuddles. If we are eating, she wants to sit on one of our laps. She follows whoever is home, talks and demands attention from us,” Joyce said.

Saving Grace Rescue

Little Dash is half the size of a kitten her age, but she makes up for it in personality and her big voice. Despite having a slightly bent paw, she can walk and run around and climb things like a pro.

Dash adores her foster canine and feline siblings and enjoys tagging along with them around the house.

“She has no problem chasing her big foster brother, Hector the cat, up and down the stairs,” Joyce added.

“Dash loves her foster dad, especially when he is sitting on a chair, and she demands cuddles.”

Shy Kitten Who Hid in Woodpile, Finds Courage with Help from One-eyed Cat

A shy kitten who hid from everyone, met a one-eyed cat — she began to learn to trust.

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue, an Indiana-based rescue group, was contacted about a pair of orphaned kittens. A feral cat was moving them across the street when she was sadly hit by a car. A Good Samaritan found the kittens and reached out to the rescue for help.

When volunteers arrived, the shyer one of the two (named Poppy) was hiding in a woodpile and refused to come out. “She was completely unsocialized to people and very fearful,” Missy McNeal of Here Kitty Kitty Rescue told Love Meow.

Once Poppy was brought to her foster home, she immediately retreated and didn’t want to be near anyone.

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

Around the same time, another kitten came to the rescue with a similar background. Phoebe, a tuxedo, and her brother lost their mom on the road and came to the rescue for a chance at a better life. She was in poor shape and had a severely infected eye which was later removed.

Phoebe quickly bounced back after surgery and came to join other kittens in her foster home. That’s when she noticed the shy tabby who was hiding away, trying to be invisible.

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

“Phoebe went to her first, to see what she was doing and why she was hiding,” Missy told Love Meow.

She kept coming back to check on the shy tabby as if she was trying to get her to play. Poppy eventually mustered up enough courage and ventured out to find her friend.

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

“She trusted Phoebe immediately and began to watch how she interacted with humans. Soon they were running all over their foster mom’s house — the best of friends.”

Poppy has come out of her shell with help from the one-eyed tuxedo. She still doesn’t like to be picked up but has learned to trust. “She is completely content snoozing the afternoon away on a warm lap.”

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

Poppy depends on Phoebe and would be very fearful without her. “She is still very skittish around strangers, and needs to know a person before she trusts them,” Missy told Love Meow.

“Even those girls aren’t related, they both had a very rough start to life and have bonded to become ‘sisters’. Phoebe is friendly and outgoing, but Poppy is very shy with new people.”

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

Poppy loves nothing more than running around playing with Phoebe. She’s always near her sister, following her everywhere she goes.

Both kittens’ own siblings have been adopted, and they are ready to find a place to call their very own — a quiet, patient home that allows Poppy to settle in at her own pace.

Here Kitty Kitty Rescue

“We are looking for an adoptive home where the two girls can stay together forever,” Missy told Love Meow.

Poppy is thriving and no longer hides from her foster parents. She is so happy to have Phoebe by her side.

Stray Kitten Cuddles Family Dog and Insists on Being His Friend

A stray kitten befriended a puppy and decided he would be his best friend.

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

A ginger and white kitten was found in a homeowner’s yard in Denver, Colorado. The man is allergic to cats, but didn’t hesitate to help. He brought the little guy to his pet groomer, Kēnya.

Kēnya immediately set up a spot for the kitten at her shop and started contacting local shelters and searching the neighborhood to see if anyone was missing a cat.

After driving around the area a few times, no one came to claim the kitten. “He had no collar or microchip either, so I took him home that night,” Kēnya told Love Meow.

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

The initial plan was to keep the kitten overnight and try to find him help through a shelter the next day, but everything changed when the kitten nuzzled his way into their arms.

They fell in love with the little ginger, but it was Kēnya’s puppy, Edward, who had the most love for him. “They acted like they were long lost brothers.”

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

The kitten immediately started cuddling with his canine friend and followed him everywhere around the house.

“They just wanted to be around each other all the time,” Kēnya said. “I couldn’t find it in my heart to bring him to the shelter.”

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

A couple weeks later, no one contacted them about a lost cat. They officially made the kitten part of their family and named him Popsicle.

“Popsicle certainly considers himself to be Edward’s cat. No matter how sweet or annoying Ed can be, Popsicle tolerates him. If this isn’t unconditional love, I don’t know what is.”

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

Every time they took Ed out for a walk, Popsicle came running to the door and wanted to join the fun.

“He is such an energetic and confident little boy that we figured we’d try expending his energy and expanding his world by having him join us while walking the dogs. As usual, he fit right in!”

Kēnya @bb_pangur_ban

When the kitten needs a cuddle from his humans, he crawls up their shoulders to get the best view in the house.

“He’s getting bigger but still just a petite little guy although he thinks he’s much bigger than he is,” Kēnya said.

“Popsicle is the best friend any cat or dog could ever ask for,” Kēnya added. “He makes friends with every animal he meets and will do anything for a treat.”
